“The ObamaCare Carnival of Perverse Incentives
January 24, 2014

With fewer glitches to deter them, millions of Americans are now logging on to the ObamaCare health insurance exchange websites. When they get there, many are discovering some unpleasant surprises, says John C. Goodman, president and CEO of the National Center for Policy Analysis.

· The deductibles are higher than what most people are used to, the networks of doctors and hospitals are skimpier (in some cases much skimpier), and lifesaving drugs are often not on the insurers’ formularies (Increase costs with less benefits! It is the government way! Not the free market way!—my addition).

· Even after the government’s income-based subsidies are taken into account, the premiums are often higher than what people previously paid (Increased bureaucracy plus required coverage that are not needed or wanted, plus paying for others so they do not pay more is a recipe for higher costs! Less choice plus more costs is the way of government!—my addition).

Why is this happening? Because the new law gives insurance buyers and sellers perverse incentives to behave in ways that create these problems. Things will only get more out of whack as more and more unhealthy people enter a system designed to be paid for by premiums from healthy people (Exactly how it is designed! It is the reverse of the insurance model where those who cost less pay less. Now it is those who cost more, pay less and those who cost less pay more! Barack Hussein Obama, how is that fair?—my addition) .

· Under the Affordable Care Act, the benefits insurers must offer are strictly regulated. To keep premiums as low as possible, the insurers are offering very narrow networks, often leaving out the best doctors and the best hospitals.(My use of red. And yet, the premium costs are higher for these same people! Less choice; higher cost!—my addition) In fact, one of the exchange plans in Colorado includes only a single Denver hospital, the one that usually treats Medicaid patients.

· Under the Affordable Care Act, insurers are required to charge the same premium rate to anyone who wants to sign up, regardless of health status; and they are required to accept anyone who applies. This means that to make ends meet they must overcharge the healthy and undercharge the sick. (My use of red. EXACTLY! The healthy pay for the sick and receive less than before! It is a double whammy for the healthy. It is penalizing the healthy for being healthy while rewarding the unhealthy for being unhealthy! It is a perverted system created by a perverted government that then exempts itself! It is like giving citizenship to those who are violating our laws! Sound familiar!—my addition) It also means insurers have strong incentives to attract the healthy (on whom they make a profit) and avoid the sick (on whom they incur losses) by, in effect, making their plans less appealing to the sick.

At some point, politicians of both parties will realize that we can do better than this (Do not count on it! The Democrats are committed to it or a single payer plan and the establishment Republicans are not willing to fight for we the people!—my addition). That will require a real market for health insurance with premiums that reflect real risks (Which was what we had before!—my addition). There is a role for government in helping people with severe health problems. That is why risk pools exist. What we didn’t need was to destroy the market for the many in order to give aid to the few (No, but that IS EXACTLY what the Democrats intended and did do!—my addition).

Beware of these words: “I am from the government and I am here to help!”

This is my two part suggestion to Tea Party groups, social conservatives, Constitutionalists, and anyone else who wants to save our Republic from the approaching destruction.

1) Run as many conservative candidates in as many Republican primaries as possible.

2) Then, run as many independent and/or third party candidates as possible in as many races as possible where we did not win the primary.

That is why I am working to get the Constitution Party on the ballot in Texas. If we get on the ballot, we will have two Congressional House candidates running and two State candidates running. Getting on the ballot is the first step. Winning elections is the second. Winning elections will grow the Party. The Constitution Party is much more in line with the Tea Party movement than is the Republican Party. And I have been involved with all three!

If elected to Congress, I will not, under any circumstances, vote for present Speaker of the House John Boehner to be Speaker of the House. I call on every Republican primary candidate running in Texas Congressional District 19 to publicly (in writing) make the same pledge. It would not be a bad idea for every Republican candidate running for the House of Representatives to give the same pledge. See my post at http://christiangunslinger3.blogspot.com on December 16, 2013 entitled “Speaker of the House John Boehner Attacks the Tea Party Again for Being Fiscally Responsible!”

If I am elected to the House, I will use the Constitution, as written, to do everything in my power to stop judicial tyranny! Will the other candidates pledge the same? I know our present Representative has NOT done everything possible to stop judicial tyranny! Why is that?

Competition is good for the economy and competition is good for the Republican Party!!! Competition keeps Congressmen committed to we the people!!! Primary Republicans who do not support the Constitution as written.
