After defending Obamacare from the vilest of insults from angry citizens, a former Democrat congressional aide says that she’s finally given up and admitted that she was wrong.

What prompted the turnabout?

Sue Klinkhamer is one of an estimated millions who, contrary to President Obama’s famous promise, has received, or is about to receive, a policy-cancellation notice (And at an increase in costs for the replacement policy! Estimated to be as much as 16 million policy holders! And it is NOT the fault of the insurance companies contrary to the continuing Obama Administration lies. Obamacare regulations REQUIRE new coverage that are not in the old policies! By law, if the policies change then they can not continue. The regulations REQUIRE them to change! Legalized “catch 22!” The President LIED repeatedly and he knew he was lying!—my addition).

After getting hers in the mail, she fired off an email to her former boss, Representative Bill Foster, D-Illinois (I use to live and teach in his Congressional District!—my addition), and other Democratic colleagues, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

Klinkhamer wrote: ‘I spent two years defending Obamacare. I had constituents scream at me, spit at me and call me names that I can’t put in print.’

She explained that her boss was not re-elected in 2010 largely because of voter opposition to Obamacare (Tea Party Power! It use to be a Republican District. The Democrats redrew the District to make it much more Democrat compatible!—my addition).

Nevertheless, Klinkhamer said she defended Obamacare after she lost her job, ‘because it would make health care available to everyone at, what I assumed, would be an affordable price (Silly person! Can’t cover more people, require more coverage and not expect costs to go up! Someone has to pay!—my addition).’

‘I have now learned,” she wrote, “that I was wrong. Very wrong (No kidding! We were saying it in 2009!—my addition).’

The individual policy she bought three years ago on the open market after losing her job was $225 a month with a $2,500 deductible.

The premium rose each year, she said, and was $291 with a $3,500 deductible as of September 1.

A few weeks ago, she said, she received a letter from Blue Cross stating her current coverage would expire December 31.

Her new options from Blue Cross were a plan with similar benefits for $647.12 or one for $322.32 but with a $6,500 deductible.

‘Blue Cross also tells me that if I don’t pick one of the options, they will just assume I want the one for $647,’ she said.

“Someone please tell me,” Klinkhamer asked, “why my premium in January will be $356 more than in December?”

Her former boss, Foster, has since been returned to Congress.

Asked for comment by the Sun-Times, he said: ‘A very large number of people are very grateful’ for Obamacare (Because we the people are picking up their cost! Our increases and we pay for theirs too!—my addition).

Meanwhile, the White House finally admitted Monday that the law is killing off health insurance policies (And they knew it would and so did we! We extremist Tea Partiers! Who is the LIAR now!—my addition). NBC News further reported the administration knew it would happen as long as three years ago.

As WND reported last week, owners of individual health-insurance policies already have received more than 1 million cancellation notices, according to a compilation of news reports.

Health-policy expert Bob Laszewski has concluded that about 16 million Americans will lose their current plans because of Obamacare (And others will lose their doctors!—my addition).

Laszewski explained that about 19 million Americans are in the individual health insurance market.

‘Because the Obama administration’s regulations on grandfathering existing plans were so stringent about 85 percent of those, 16 million, are not grandfathered and must comply with Obamacare at their next renewal,’ he said.

The 16 million, he said, will receive letters from their carriers saying they are losing their current coverage and must re-enroll to avoid a break in coverage.

‘Most of these will be seeing some pretty big rate increases,” he said.

Health insurers have explained that many of their plans will no longer exist next year because they do not cover all the essential benefits required by the Affordable Care Act (Like maternity benefits even if you have no need for them! Like birth control pills even if you have no need for them! Like paying to MURDER unborn children even if that is morally repugnant to you! You no longer have choices. You MUST! You MUST! You MUST! I WILL NOT!—my addition)”

(CNSNews.com)—Representative Joe Barton (R-Texas), a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, on Thursday grilled Cheryl Campbell, senior vice president of CGI Federal Inc., the company that built the Obamacare health-insurance exchange website, on language hidden in source code on the site that says applicants have ‘no reasonable expectation of privacy.’

Barton showed Campbell an image of the website coding that included this warning, and she confirmed that she knew it was there.

However, she insisted that in developing the site the way it did, her company was simply following ‘a set of rules and regulations’ set out under their contract by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (Which means the government is saying there is NO expectation of privacy!—my addition).

‘This is the part of the signup that is hidden,’ said Barton. ‘The applicant does not see this, but it is in the source code, and what that blue highlighted area that’s been circled in red says is: ‘You have no reasonable expectation of privacy regarding any communication or data transmitting or stored on this information system.’

The HIPAA Privacy Rule ‘establishes national standards to protect individuals’ medical records and other personal health information and applies to health plans, health care clearinghouses, and those health care providers that conduct certain health care transactions electronically.’

‘HIPAA is designed to protect the patient’s privacy, and this explicitly says in order to continue, you have to accept this condition that you have no privacy, or no reasonable expectation of privacy (Which means the government is saying there is NO expectation of privacy!—my addition),’ he said.

At the hearing on Obamacare implementation failures, Campbell admitted that she was aware of the language in the source code. However, she told the committee earlier that her company was HIPAA compliant.

When Barton pressed her on whether the source code was HIPAA compliant, Campbell said it was a decision for CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) to make (Which means the government is saying there is NO expectation of privacy! And the government is violating its own law! Which is not new for the Obama Administration! This Administration has continuously violated and/or ignored laws they do not approve of!—my addition).

‘You just told Mrs. Blackburn that it was HIPAA complaint. You know that’s not HIPAA compliant. You admit that you knew it was in there. It may be their decision to hide it, but you’re the company—not you personally—but your company is the company that put this together,’ Barton said.

‘We’re telling every American, including all my friends on the Democrat side—and they’re huge privacy advocates—Diane DeGette, is co-chairman of the Privacy Caucus with me, but you’re telling every American if you sign up for this or even attempt to, you have no reasonable expectation of privacy. That is a direct contradiction to HIPAA, and you know it. Yes or no?’ Barton asked Campbell.

‘Once again, CMS has us comply to a set of rules and regulations that they’ve established under our contract, and that is a CMS call. That is not a contractor call (The answer is YES!—my addition),’ Campbell said.

‘You’re now saying that CMS made a decision to break the law. Do you agree with that decision?’ Barton asked her.

Campbell replied that she could not speculate.

Barton asked who Campbell reported to and who made policy level decisions that her company interfaced with.

‘There are many decisions made under this program over this last two and a half years,’ Campbell said.

‘Is this another example where things just go into a cloud? All you are is contractor that spent $300 or 400 million? It goes to some amorphous cloud and then it comes back from down on high? Who wrote that?’ Barton asked.

‘I am not clear as to who wrote that,” Campbell replied. When Barton pressed her on whether it should be a requirement to sign up for Obamacare to ‘give up any reasonable expectation of privacy,’ she said it was not her ‘jurisdiction.’

‘Well, I’ll answer. I don’t think it should be,’ Barton said.

After Barton spoke, Representative Frank Pallone (D-New Jersey) [Representing the 6^th Congressional District! Two Republicans are listed as possible challengers!—my addition] accused Republicans on the committee of holding a ‘monkey court’ and trying to scare Americans from signing up for Obamacare (Is he trying to protect the Obama Administration? Does he not care about the problems?—my addition).

‘So once again, here we have my Republican colleagues trying to scare everybody,’ Pallone said.

‘There are no pre-existing conditions. The pre-existing conditions don’t matter. HIPAA doesn’t apply. There’s no health information in the process (There is PERSONAL information that can be used for identity theft! Does he not care about that?—my addition). You’re asked about your address, your date of birth,’ he said.

‘You’re not asked health information, so why are we going down this path? Because you are trying to scare people so they don’t apply and so therefore the legislation gets delayed or the Affordable Care Act gets defunded or it’s repealed. That’s all it is, hoping people won’t apply,’ Pallone added.”

The federal government does not have the constitutional authority to do this regardless of an invalid Supreme Court decision! The federal government does not have the constitutional authority to be involved in healthcare! This should be resisted at every turn by every person who believes in and supports the rule of law which this nation was founded under. This is an act of a tyrant!

Blue Cross in New Jersey, alone, is dropping more than 800,000 customers due to Obamacare.

In a letter earlier this month to customers who purchase insurance on the individual and small-employer markets, the insurance giant explained that their health-insurance plan would no longer exist next year because it does not cover all the essential benefits required by the Affordable Care Act.

The Daily Caller reported 1.1 million Aetna customers are at risk in New Jersey, where the leading insurer also won’t be a part of the state’s new Obamacare exchange.

As WND reported, some insurers are canceling plans sold to people with pre-existing medical conditions. Obamacare forbids insurers from rejecting applicants with pre-existing conditions or charging them higher prices (Which is economically impossible to cover in a free market economy without raising prices. It simply means others pay the costs for those with pre-existing medical conditions! So if someone has AIDS, we get to pay for his medical costs!—my addition).

In Florida, Kaiser Health Network reported, Blue Cross is terminating 300,000 polices.

Half a million Californians with catastrophic plans are losing their insurance plans because they don’t comply with the Affordable Care Act, KNBC-TV in Los Angeles reported Oct. 10.

Those who try to sign up for new ones, KNBC said, are learning the cost may be significantly higher.

Actor Paul Divito asked in KNBC’s report: ‘Affordable for whom? It’s basically squeezing us right out of the middle class.’

Gerald Kominski, director of the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health, estimates that ‘a half million people who are currently insured might be paying more premiums or higher premiums next year because the policies that they have today, those lower-cost, high-deductible skinny benefit policies are not going to be allowed next year on the marketplace.’

Blue Cross dropped Medicare D , the prescription drug plan, for some 13,000 senior citizens in Louisiana, according to the Greater Baton Rouge Business Report.

Blue Cross announced in a letter that prescription drug coverage will end Dec. 31, and seniors enrolled in the plans will have to find new Medicare part D coverage.

Excellus BlueCross BlueShield in New York state announced its Medicaid and Family Health Plus programs will be dropped, affecting 13,000 in certain counties, reported WHAM-TV in Rochester, N.Y.

‘The health plan is incurring losses approaching $100 million on these products in 2013 and we expect that amount to increase in 2014,’ the company said in a statement (An insurance company can not exist without profit!—my addition).

‘Losses of this magnitude are simply unsustainable.’

In September, conservative media entrepreneur Michelle Malkin, founder of HotAir.com and Twitchy, reported Anthem Blue Cross canceled her family plan.

Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield sent a letter telling customers that plans which don’t meet Obamacare’s requirements will be discontinued in 2014.

The Washington Post reported that the Fairfax County Water Authority in Northern Virginia expects to drop employee coverage because of Obamacare.

The Post cited a letter by Burton Jay Rubin, chairman of the authority’s government relations committee, declaring that if the “Cadillac Tax” is enacted in 2018 as planned—a 40 percent excise tax on insurers—the authority will likely drop insurance coverage for its nearly 400 employees.

‘[I]t is irrefutable that the ACA is fatally flawed,’ wrote Rubin. ‘If it is intended to make health care coverage available to those who do not have it, it does so only by jeopardizing the coverage earned by those who have it.’

Rubin said that by 2018 the Fairfax County Water Authority expects to pay $13,450 to cover individual employees and $33,300 per employee family for coverage (WOW!—my addition).

It only makes sense, he concludes, to pay the fine rather than pay for health insurance.

‘[I]f we provide our workforce with no health care coverage, we merely pay the government $2,000 for each employee,’ (Significant difference in costs which is one reason why some companies originally supported Obamacare! They wanted the government, that is we the people, to pay for their employees’ insurance—my addition) he wrote.

In a wrap-up, the Daily Caller found 10 states, including New Jersey, in which Obamacare will wipe out health plans.

In Missouri, patients of the state’s largest hospital system will not be covered by the largest insurer on Obamacare exchanges, Anthem BlueCross BlueShield.

In Connecticut, Aetna won’t offer insurance on the Obamacare exchange in the state in which it was founded in 1850. The company explained that ‘modification to the rates filed by Aetna will not allow us to collect enough premiums to cover the cost of the plans and meet the service expectations of our customers (They would lose money!—my addition).’

In Maryland, 13,000 individuals covered by Aetna and Coventry Health Care won’t be allowed to keep their insurance plans if they want Obamacare subsidies on the exchanges.

In South Carolina, the state’s second largest insurer, Medical Mutual of Ohio, decided to leave the state, dropping 28,000 people.

In New York, Aetna pulled out of the state’s exchange in late August to keep its plans ‘financially viable.’

In Iowa, the largest insurer, Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield, which sells 86 percent of the state’s individual health insurance plans, won’t offer plans on the Obamacare exchange.

In Wisconsin, two of the three largest insurers in the state won’t offer plans on the exchange.

In Georgia, just five insurers are participating in Georgia’s Obamacare exchange.

Marketwatch reported in August that UPS has joined a growing list of companies kicking spouses off health insurance (Thank you, Obamacare!—my addition).

UPS said some15,000 UPS spouses who can obtain health coverage through their own jobs will be dropped from the plan.

Walgreens, the nation’s biggest drug store chain, has dropped 160,000 workers.

The company said it will move its workers into a private health insurance exchange to buy company-subsidized coverage.

It followed similar action this year by Sears and the Orlando-based Darden Restaurants.

Darden Restaurants, the Orlando Sentinel reported, said about 1,000 employees nationwide who were eligible for its traditional health plan won’t qualify because they did not work an average of 30 hours weekly over the past year (Part time workers!—my addition).

Darden, which owns chains such as Olive Garden and Red Lobster, employs more than 200,000 people.

The Orlando paper noted that starting in 2015, Obamacare will require large companies to offer insurance to employees working an average of at least 30 hours a week.

Darden will no longer offer part-timers limited-benefit insurance because Obamacare forbids it, the paper said.

Bloomberg reported America’s biggest employers, from GE to IBM, are increasingly moving retirees to insurance exchanges where they select their own health plans.

Time Warner also has said it would move retired workers to a privately run exchange.”

Republican advocates for the Common Core State Standards have been surprised to discover deep and persistent opposition to a top down, educational system driven by a ‘testing to the test’ mindset which seeks to push all students towards a four year university degree (And to propagandize them for their entire time in K-12!—my addition). You might say that, by failing to anticipate objections from grassroots conservatives, Common Core advocates are guilty of the soft bigotry of low expectations.

But, the trajectory of the debate and the passion it engenders from many parents, educators, grassroot conservatives and employers dissatisfied with the increasing state and national control over local public education, is not at all surprising to those of us in Texas who have watched and participated in the battle over our state’s education policy in recent years. As Chairman of the Texas Workforce Commission, I was heavily involved in that battle.

Over the past two decades, intellectual elites took control of Texas public schools and implemented a philosophy that shares with the Common Core the same defining characteristics:

- a top-down, centralized approach

- an obsession with testing

- one-size-fits-all standards and curriculum

- the use of buzzwords like ‘rigor’ so as to imply that opponents favor low quality education

- giving lots [of] lip service to principles like local control while essentially threatening those (schools, districts, states) who don’t choose to comply to do so under state mandates.

In Texas, this approach to education goes back to initiatives begun by Ross Perot in 1984 which gained steam under Democratic Governor Ann Richards in the early 1990s. But, when George W. Bush was Governor, this top-down, centralized educational philosophy came to dominance (And is still being pushed by Jeb Bush in the form of Common Core! No Presidential nomination for him!—my addition).

Despite the liberal roots of Bush’s education policy Republicans in 1995 were generally supportive of his reforms even though the architect of his plan was Sandy Kress—the former Chairman of the Dallas Democratic Party (Seriously!—my addition). It’s not hard to understand why. Many Texans were tired of seeing their tax dollars go to fund public schools that did not appear to be doing well. High stakes testing was sold as necessary to keep administrators accountable. Moreover, conservatives were weary of the left’s constant accusations of racism; and, thus, the increasingly rigid graduation requirements that were promoted by the Bush Administration provided a good soundbite: The Bush Administration had high expectations for all Texas students, not just high achieving school districts.

Texans subsequently learned that you can’t legislate achievement (Never could; never will! Achievement is determined by the individual! As the old saying goes which Texans should know, you can lead a horse to water, but you can not make him drink!—my addition). Getting students to pass an increasing number of state mandated tests came to be the focal point in many classrooms. The rest of the country learned the same thing when President Bush took his education policies to Washington in the form of No Child Left Behind. More than a decade after the passage of that bill, it is clear that you can’t make every student proficient in reading and math simply by writing it into law and requiring a bunch of tests (Ditto!—my addition).

Republican supporters of the Common Core have missed the shift that has occurred among conservatives since the time when Bush took office in Texas. Conservatives have returned to their roots. After letting their guard down in the mid-1990s, they recovered their healthy suspicion of centralization and top-down solutions. Common Core advocates appear to be genuinely dumbfounded that anyone would not support implementation of their standards. Yet the past two presidential administrations have taught us to be highly skeptical when a room full of experts say ‘trust us (Always!—my addition).’

Texans finally had enough. A remarkably diverse coalition emerged over the last couple of years—perhaps the most diverse political alliance I’ve seen in my half-century in politics. The bipartisan group consisted of parents from affluent suburbs and the inner city, teachers and superintendents, business owners, and legislators from both rural and urban districts. They were fed up with the obsession with high stakes tests that had come to dominate every aspect of Texas public schools. And, employers who were struggling to fill slots for good paying jobs in the skilled trades were tired of a mentality that denigrated working with your hands and said that all kids should go to college.

The result was that in its most recent regular session, the Texas Legislature passed House Bill 5, which Governor Rick Perry signed into law after intense pressure from voters who barraged his office with calls in support of the bill. HB 5 significantly reduces the amount of standardized tests high school students must take to graduate. It also, undoes the one size fits all approach curriculum approach, giving students multiple pathways to graduation. Under the new law, local school districts will have greater flexibility to develop graduation plans that will help prepare those students interested in a career pathway to get an industry-certified credential or a license by the time they graduate from high school.

Some Common Core advocates may tell you that their approach to education has not been tried and found wanting but rather found difficult and not tried. Don’t believe them. Texans tried it for more than a decade and found it very wanting—so much so that they finally stood up to an army of well-paid lobbyists and condescending bureaucrats to demand a return to common sense (Every once in awhile common sense prevails!—my addition).

States have allowed the violation of the Constitution because of the easy allure of MORE MONEY and the nonsense sprouted by the Left that it is for the children!
