Tea Party Groups Urgent Action Needed NOW: “You’ve Got to Pass the Bill to Know What Is in It!”

This was not my intended post for today. This is an emergency call to action!

One of my goals before I die is to see the end of unconstitutional “legalized” MURDER. I am determined to help end this evil catastrophe. And ending it is necessary for the good of this nation. This nation will never heal until we, as a society, stop MURDERING the innocent. I hope to have an announcement in relation to this on Friday the 13th. The LORD willing!

Competition is good for the economy and competition is good for the Republican Party!!! Competition keeps Congressmen committed to we the people!!! Primary Republicans who do not support the Constitution as written.

Yesterday a “compromise” budget was reached between two Congressmenone House Republican and one Senate Democrat. Today, the House is scheduled to vote on it. They will be voting on something they could not have possibly studied and without much debate or public input. Even if this was a good bill and who possibly knows, this is a terrible way to govern! Tell your CongressmenHouse and Senateto vote NO! Tell Congress you are tired of and will not accept government by “You’ve got to pass the bill to know what is in it!”

CONGRESS HAS NO RESPECT FOR WE THE PEOPLE! I do not care if they want to go home. They are the ones who ran for election to serve the people. Know what is in the bill you are voting for or get out of Congress!

From: Americans for Prosperity http://americansforprosperity.org/

“Donald,

In a disappointing move last night, Congressman Paul Ryan and Senator Patty Murray officially announced a budget that increases discretionary spending by $45 billion to over $1 trillion, up from the $967 billion cap agreed to by Congress and the President in the 2011 Budget Control Act. These increases would come by undoing $65 billion in sequester cuts over the next two years and raising revenue from things like new TSA fees and auctioning off wireless spectrum.

Americans for Prosperity strongly opposes this deal and will key vote against any package in Congress that spends beyond the $967 billion level without equal cuts.

With a final House vote likely as soon as tomorrow, I ask that you please urge your Representative to vote ‘no’ on this plan. If you have other contacts with their office, any positive encouragement you can send at this time would be very helpful.

Take action here or please consider making a contribution of $5, $10, $15 or more to give our state teams and activists the tools they need to contact friends and neighbors in support of our efforts.

Since yesterday morning, as rumors surfaced that a deal had been reached, AFP State Directors have deployed an all-out grassroots and earned media blitz in key districts to urge persuadable House members through phone, email, and office visits.

Already, these efforts have produced significant results:

• AFP activists have logged over 2,500 calls using our patch-through phone system

• 15,000 individual actions have been taken through our online AFP Action Center

• 7,000 new twitter followers have been added to AFP’s accounts

• We’ve garnered hundreds of earned media hits from nearly every national outlet, including:

the New York Times, Politico, Fox News, CNN, and the Washington Post.

This is an uphill battle, but we cannot afford to sit on the sidelines.

Now, many members of the GOP establishment, including Congressman Ryan, and many in the media are mistakenly linking the September Obamacare-defund strategy and subsequent government shutdown with AFP’s latest effort to reject the Ryan-Murray budget. As a result, some lawmakers are more open to supporting this bill to avoid another politically costly and publicly unpopular shutdown.

This current fight is dramatically different from the Obamacare-defund strategy. AFP activists are urging the continuation of policy previously negotiated and agreed to by Congress and President Obama that has cut discretionary spendingwhile not harming the economy. Lawmakers need to keep that promise.

To be clear: AFP was never supportive of the September defund strategy (I was and am!my addition) nor did we support the government shutdown.

While we agree with our colleagues in the conservative movement on the need to repeal Obamacare, we believed using a CR spending fight as a bargaining chip to defund the law was a no-win play considering the strong liberal majorities in the Senate and White House. We have consistently seen that we win with the public when these issues are considered separately on their own merits. Conflating the issues showcases merely political bickering and division-a recipe for completely turning off Americans to serious policy reforms that need to be made to rein in government growth.

We have long acknowledged that the sequester is not the smartest way to cut spending, but until the Senate and the President come to the table in good faith to rein in out-of-control entitlement programs, the sequester is the best tool we have to keep government spending in check.

The CR must keep that check in place and adhere to an overall discretionary spending level of $967 billion. Take action now!

Over the next 24 hours, we need to make it clear, to Republicans especially, that not upholding sequestration would break their promise to the American people about finally beginning to rein in government over-spending that has left us over $17 trillion in debt.

We’re in this for the long-haul. Thank you so much for standing with us, Donald. This is a tough fight, but we must keep the pressure up.

Much lies ahead,

Tim

P.S.Because of your support, AFP is uniquely positioned to effectively pressure Congress at the grassroots level. We’ve gone beyond just emails and phone calls to visits to the district offices of targeted members. NOTHING is more powerful than a visit, and we’re making that happen. But we can’t do it alone. If you could partner with us financially now, as the year ends, we'll be equipped to continue to advance the cause.

Thanks.

Ballotpedia has compiled data on the average net worth of our elected officials for the years 2004 to 2010. As the average net worth of Congress has increased since 2004, and held about even from 2007 to 2010, the average American family net worth dropped 40 percent from 2007 to 2010 to an average of $77,300.

In 2010, the average net worth for a U.S. senator was $13,224,333. The average net worth for a Democratic senator was $19,383,524, compared to $7,054,258 for a Republican senator. That’s a difference of $12.3 million.

The top ten richest senators, the highest seven of which are Democrats, from this Ballotpedia table:

Top 10 Senators in 2010 with average net worth:

Matthew 12: 35-37 (NIV)

“A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”

Matthew 11: 19b (NIV)

“But wisdom is proved right by her deeds.”
