“What Do Your Taxes Pay For? Oh, Things Like Camel Sculptures …

Taxpayers are about to pony up $400,000 for the sculpture of a white camel contemplating a needle.

But the sculpture won’t even be here in our country. It will be in front of the U.S. Embassy in Pakistan.

Here is what it will look like:

The sculpture in the picture is currently on display at the HALL Wines winery in Napa Valley, California. An identical sculpture is planned for the U.S. Embassy in Pakistan.

The State Department has agreed to pay $400,000 for the sculpture. This is supposedly ‘a good deal’ because the original sculpture came at a much higher price.

I like artwork. I have some in my study. But frankly, this purchase seems frivolous and wasteful to me (Does anyone else agree? Any government official agree? Do you think the artist has some tie-in with the Obama Administration?—my addition). Average Americans will not get any value whatsoever from this sculpture. But they are the ones who will pay for it.(Minor detail! Just suck it up and endure! It is the Obama Administrationpatron to the arts!—my addition).

And will Pakistanis like the sculpture? Hard to say. The average Pakistani makes $1,250 per year, so I assume he would rather the $400,000 be spent on other more practical things (So would I! How about more security in Benghazi? Oh, right. Too late!—my addition).

Besides all that, doesn’t the sculpture miss the point? It is supposed to reference the Bible story in Matthew 19.

When the rich young ruler asks Jesus how he can gain life for the eon, Jesus replies, ‘If you wish to be complete, go and sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.’

Now I’m no Bible scholar, but spending $400,000 of taxpayer money on a sculpture of dubious value doesn’t really seem to line up with the teaching.

Fortunately, there is no waste in the federal government! Right? It is time to take back the nation!

This is my two part suggestion to Tea Party groups, social conservatives, Constitutionalists, and anyone else who wants to save our Republic from the approaching destruction.

1) Run as many conservative candidates in as many Republican primaries as possible.

2) Then, run as many independent and/or third party candidates as possible in as many races as possible where we did not win the primary.

Competition is good for the economy and competition is good for the Republican Party!!! Competition keeps Congressmen committed to we the people!!! Primary Republicans who do not support the Constitution as written.
