According to ABC radio news, President Obama has decided not to take action on amnesty for illegal aliens (“immigration reform” in Left euphemism) until after the 2014 election. Of course, the reason he decided to wait was because some Democrat Senators up for reelection this year are scared silly that they will lose the election if MORE amnesty is implemented before the election. They think the American voter is TOO STUPID to realize there is no difference whether an illegal act is implemented before or after an election. It is still an illegal act that will do great harm to America!

One of the most important liberties that our country was founded upon, if not the most important liberty, is the right for a citizen to practice his or her religion unfettered by government intervention (Why many people came to this continent in the first place! It is also the first protected right in the First Amendment! It is extremely important! And it has been encroached upon for many years!—my addition). As we track members with our Liberty Score™, religious liberty will be at the top of the list. Earlier this week, Senators Mike Lee (R-UT) -100% and Ted Cruz (R-TX) -95% showed, once again, why they are at the top of our Liberty Score™.
On Monday, the Supreme Court announced that it would not consider overturning the decision of lower courts to mandate that sovereign states (Note: a sovereign State overridden by one judge or a small cabal of lower federal court judges! Never the intent of the Constitution! Never!—my addition) and their voters redefine the definition of marriage. Among the many problems inherent in banning states from defining marriage as it has been since our nation’s founding is that everything related to so-called same-sex marriage is becoming a civil right subject to anti-discrimination laws (It is not and never will be a civil right to sin! GOD gives us our rights—not man and not governments!—my addition).
We now have multiple instances throughout the country where individual business owners are being coerced by unelected judges to perform services for activities that violate their religious sensibilities. In one of the most alarming examples, Cynthia and Robert Gifford of Clifton Park, N.Y. are being forced to host a same-sex marriage ceremony on their private farm. This is an outrage and runs counter to our founding values (And the whole concept of freedom and liberty! It is government tyranny!—my addition).
Ideally, every Republican would condemn the growing infringement on religious liberty, and help work on legislation to protect our most cherished freedoms (Ideally! Where are they? Where is John Boehner as Speaker of the House? Where is Mitch McConnell as Minority Leader of the Senate?—my addition).
Ideally, every Republican would condemn the growing infringement on religious liberty, and help work on legislation to protect our most cherished freedoms. Yet, only two senators—Lee and Cruz (Republican Senators let our best two Senators do the speaking for them?—my addition), spoke out on Monday against the Supreme Court’s decision. In addition to having the courage to defend something as bedrock as religious liberty, which is evidently too controversial for other Republicans and an anathema for Democrats, they have both introduced legislation to protect state sovereignty and personal liberty (Good!—my addition).
Senator Lee has introduced the Marriage and Religious Freedom Act, HR 3133/ S. 1808, with Rep. Raul Labrador (R-ID). This bill would protect individuals and businesses from the federal government’s encroachment on their private contracts in an effort to force them to violate their religious beliefs. Cruz has introduced The State Marriage Defense Act (HR 3829/ S. 2024) with Rep. Randy Weber (R-TX), which would require the federal government to recognize the definition of marriage within a state as that state determines it (Seems reasonable!—my addition).
It is for this purpose that we have created comprehensive profiles for all Republican senators and are in the process of completing profiles for House members. Every elected official has an opportunity to shape the national debate and defend our constitutional values through public statements, legislation, and initiatives as well as votes. As we noted in Cruz’s and Lee’s profiles, they have served as stalwart voices for liberty in addition to voting with conservatives (Voting from behind is not enough! We need leaders who lead! Particularly those in leadership position! Republicans are lacking such leadership at the present time at the top!—my addition).
Their bold, yet lonely stance against judicial overreach and anti-conscious coercion is just the latest example of how they help advance the conservative cause (Agreed!—my addition).
It is past time to restore the Constitution as written and amended!
It is past time to shut down judicially activist judges!
It is past time to take back the nation!
We can save the nation from itself by replacing establishment Republicans and Democrats with social, fiscal conservatives!
