A conservative author and activist says it would be a bit of a stretch to believe that Dr. Ben Carson can go from being a world-renowned neurosurgeon to being elected president of the United States in 2016 (I would not support him!—my addition).

Since exploding onto the public stage with his bold, face-to-face criticism of the administration’s policies, Carson has been an outspoken critic of President Barack Obama (He is not alone! However, good for him!—my addition). The gifted neurosurgeon recently fueled further speculation about a 2016 presidential run when he formed a political action committee. Many pundits have welcomed the idea of a nonpolitician getting elected president. Ken Blackwell, a senior fellow with Family Research Council, has held the office of mayor of Cincinnati, as well as Ohio State Treasurer and Ohio Secretary of State. He finds it difficult to believe that someone can win his or her first political office as the president of the United States (Let’s see him walk the walk before putting him into the top office in the land! Talking and walking are not the same!—my addition).

‘Eisenhower did it,’ he acknowledges, ‘but the question is: Has Ben acquired the skills, the experience that would allow him to leap over statewide elected offices? This is still a country with over 33,000 counties—and to think that you could go right from being a world-renowned surgeon to leading a national government and becoming the leader of the free world is a bit of a stretch (More than a bit!—my addition).’ Blackwell points out that a deep field of capable 2016 Republican presidential hopefuls is lining up, including several governors who should battle for the GOP nomination (Senator Ted Cruz for me, at this time—my addition).

Answer this question: He talks the talk but has he ever walked the walk? Talk is cheap! Walking the walk is a whole lot more difficult! For President of the United States, I want to see some walk of the walk!

Video gamers beware. A new prank called ‘swatting’ can result in a dangerous encounter with a heavily-armed SWAT team. A gamer in Colorado, recently, experienced such an event and captured it on a Twitch game stream (I have read that this practice has also been used against conservatives!—my addition).

Jordan Mahewson, from Littleton, Colorado, was playing first-person shooter game Counter-Strike, when a Swat team raided his office (His office? He was at work and was playing a video game?—my addition) after getting reports that an active shooter was on the premises (Which means a false police report! Which should mean it is a felony!—my addition). Mahewson recorded the entire incident on his Twitch game stream.

However, there was no shooter, only a false report called in stating that Mahewson had shot two co-workers and was holding others hostage. The call was a hoax, part of a prank (This is a whole lot more than a prank! This is dangerous! Dangerous to the person targeted, dangerous for by-standers, and dangerous for the police!—my addition) called ‘swatting,’ where rival video gamers use a smartphone or tablet to make an anonymous call to 9-1-1 and report fake shootings and incidents.

In the past, swatting happened often to celebrities. However, video gamers have picked it up as a way to get revenge against someone who slighted them online (Idiots!—my addition).

Not only is swatting stupid, but it’s also dangerous. Mahewson was lucky. He remained calm when the SWAT team arrived and took the situation in stride. That incident, however, also resulted in the lockdown of several schools and businesses in the area (It could also precipitate a heart attack or similar medical problems!—my addition).

No one was hurt in this incident, but it’s only a matter of time before someone is (Hurt or killed! Also, while a SWAT team is wasting its time and the city’s money [taxpayer’s money] answering these calls, the team might be needed elsewhere! This is the boy calling wolf going to extremes! In fact, I just posted on http://christiangunslinger3.blogspot.com today that a man in Salt Lake City was killed during a man with a gun call! This is incredibly STUPID!—my addition).

‘The FBI looks at these crimes as a public safety issue,’ says Kevin Kolbye, an assistant special agent in charge the FBI's Dallas Division. ‘It’s only a matter of time before somebody gets seriously injured as a result of one of these incidents.’

The FBI states that a few swatting incidents have almost resulted in tragedy. A car accident recently occurred after a police officer responded to a swatting call. Several victims of swatting have also suffered mild heart attacks from the shock of suddenly having armed SWAT teams arrive at their houses.

Making a false report in and of itself is a crime and can result in federal charges. It costs taxpayers money because law enforcement must take each call seriously. It’s also a waste of law enforcement’s time and resources (These people should be caught and prosecuted to the full extent of the law and the conviction and punishment should be made very public!—my addition).

Swatting incidents happen when a ‘swatter’ hacks someone’s social media and uses that to place a call to 9-1-1, making it seem as if the call is coming from the victim. The FBI urges that people are careful when they’re online and if they receive threats of swatting, call law enforcement immediately.

The FBI are currently investigating the incident in Littleton.”

During the 1980 presidential election campaign in which he shellacked failed former Democrat President Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan made abolishing the federal Department of Education, created by Carter as a political favor to teachers’ unions in 1979, a major part of his platform (Unfortunately, he did not end it! It is NOT a constitutional Department and it is not the only one that is unconstitutional!—my addition).

Reagan said about the Department of Education:

‘‘I have never believed in federal control of the schools (Nor should there be!—my addition). The vast majority of parents can figure out for themselves how to educate their children and how to provide them with good values (And that is the parents parental responsibility! It is NOT the responsibility of the federal government!—my addition). And if some parents can’t do so, well, there’s most likely someone nearby who can step in. That’s what I mean by local control and by the wisdom of letting the fifty states—all those separate laboratories of democracy—chart their own courses on education. The challenge of good schooling, I firmly believe, is best addressed as close to the student as possible (‘Tis true!—my addition).’’

Unfortunately, Reagan never had the votes in both Houses of Congress to abolish the dreaded bloated bureaucracy that began the decline of education in America, once considered the very best in the world, But now, there’s a congressman who’s channeling his inner Reagan and calling for an end to one of the Democrat Party’s favorite boondoggles (As have I!—my addition).

Congressman Jim Bridenstine (Oklahoma-01) hit the issue straight-on in a statement, while the rest of Congress was vacationing last week, pointing out that education was never intended to be a federal role by our Founding Fathers, and is nowhere to be seen in the Enumerated Powers of the Constitution (Absolutely true!—my addition):

‘The federalization of education is unconstitutional,’ Bridenstine correctly asserted. ‘The Constitution grants certain enumerated powers to the federal government such as collecting taxes, maintaining a military and establishing Post Offices, but education is not mentioned (No it is not! Neither is agriculture and a few others which I will cover in a later post!—my addition).’

The Department of Education, which has become more dictatorial over states’ education policies using thuggish bribery-like tactics (Follow the money!—my addition), will spend roughly $66 billion in 2014, which represents $537 for every U.S. household. It employs 4,100 workers and operates a whopping 120 different subsidy programs (Seriously!—my addition), according to Cato Institute education experts.

Bridenstine asserted that education was, and should be again, a states’ rights issue under the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution where all ‘powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people (Correct again! For all practical purposes, the Tenth Amendment has been removed from the Constitution! It needs to be put back in and FOLLOWED!—my addition).’

The only way mankind has been able to consistently improve any product or service is through free-market competition (Government by its very nature picks winner and losers not based upon free [freedom] enterprise principles! In fact, overwhelmingly, government programs are established in opposition to free [freedom] enterprise principles!—my addition), and Bridenstine makes the case that federalized education programs, like the ill-conceived, heavy-handled Common Core monopoly, is ‘quite the opposite of anything resembling a free market (Of course it is! That which is imposed from above can not be based on freedom!—my addition).’

Bridenstine also points out that increasing the budget at the federal bureaucracy has not resulted in a measurable improvement in education (Nor could it!—my addition), and he blames heavy-handed bureaucrats, not teachers, for this inconvenient truth.

No one with a straight face can argue that our education system is better than it was prior to Carter’s boondoggle.

Anyone sincerely wanting to return education to the local level is falsely accused as ‘being anti-education’ by the controlist teacher unions and others who benefit from Carter’s boondoggle.

‘Abolishing the U.S. Department of Education would return power to the states where it belongs,’ Bridenstine continued. ‘I am not an advocate for eliminating public education (Nor would that be a power of the federal government! Education belongs at the State level and below depending upon how each State determines to do education within that State!—my addition); I am an advocate for eliminating a top-heavy, inefficient Washington-based bureaucracy that is burdening the taxpayer (And is NOT a constitutional power of the federal government! Me too as I have said in previous posts! And mind you, I am a former public school teacher and a former public school board of education member!—my addition).’

‘It’s time to eliminate the Department of Education (It is past time!—my addition),’ he concluded.

On August 13, 2014, I announced on http://christiangunslinger3.blogspot.com that I have mailed the necessary Declaration Page and the necessary Candidacy Fee to the Texas Secretary of State to run as a write-in candidate for the United States House of Representatives for District 19. My certification of write-in candidacy was posted on the Secretary of State’s website site on 8/27/14. I am now officially a write-in candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives District 19.

I do not do this lightly. I was a candidate for public office in Arizona in four different election years in the 1980s. It is not easy running for public office. Realistically, it will take a political miracle for me to have any affect on the election at this late date. Therefore, I intend this to be a two election cycle. Run as a write-in candidate in 2014. Run in the Republican primary election in 2016 and win that primary. Win the 2016 general election. One thing is certain, I can not win if I do not run.

I would not be running if I was satisfied with our current Congressman. I believe he has become an establishment insider more concerned with protecting the establishment Republican House leadership than serving the people of our district and upholding the Constitution of the United States as written by the Founding Fathers and as amended. It seems to be a common disease within the establishment—Potomac Fever. I do not support institutionalized term limits. Elections are the best method for term limiting a member of Congress. I believe it is time for our current Congressman to be term limited.

There are numerous issues that need to be addressed in this election. I intend to address them and offer solutions. However, there are four that standout and therefore will be the foundation for this 2014 campaign.

1) Replace John Boehner as Speaker of the House with a solid social, fiscal conservative. There are several candidates that merit consideration including one or two from Texas. The goal must be to replace Speaker Boehner with a strong conservative leader who will provide the leadership that is desperately needed in the House of Representatives.

2) Restore the Constitution of the United States, or at least begin the process of doing so, by impeaching President Barack Hussein Obama who has become a lawless President unchecked by a weak-kneed Congress. He needs to be impeached sooner rather than later before he does permit damage to the United States.

3) Remove all federal money from all federal and international programs that support either directly or indirectly any abortion providing or supporting organization such as Planned Parenthood. From Obamacare, to international parenting organizations, to the United Nations; no money to any group that is directly or indirectly involved in the murder of unborn children. If children are our most valuable resource, why do we keep murdering them in the womb?

4) Revive traditional GOD-given marriage. Throughout the history of man, marriage between one man and one woman has been the norm. The federal government has no constitutional authority to impinge upon the sovereignty of the States in relation to marriage. Texas must refuse to be bullied by the federal government in relation to its laws and its Constitution! As a member of Congress, I will work tirelessly to protect the sovereignty of Texas and other States.

It is time for all conservatives throughout the nation to get involved. It is time for all conservatives throughout the country to work to take back the nation. It is time for all conservatives throughout the nation to restore the Constitution as written and amended.
