I receive regular e-mails from Speaker of the House John Boehner as do many other Republicans. Some may actually agree with him and how he leads as Speaker of the House. I do not. I received the following soon after the Republican victories in the November 2014 election.

“Republicans are humbled by the trust the American people have placed in us, and we will honor that trust by making your priorities our priorities.
That’s why, in our Weekly Republican Address, I laid out the new majority’s plans to focus first on jobs and the economy:
· We’ll work to approve the Keystone XL pipeline, which will mean lower energy costs and more American jobs.
· We’ll advance the Hire More Heroes Act, which will encourage employers to hire more of our nation’s veterans.
· And we’ll take on ObamaCare, starting with regulations that threaten the pay and peace of mind of hardworking Americans.
From there, more good ideas will follow, and with them, a chance to do some great things for the future of our country. Everything we do is about restoring the American Dream for our children and grandchildren.”
Those are not my priorities.
Here are my top three priorities which should be quickly passed in the House and in the Senate. Three top priorities and three separate and independent bills to accomplish each priority. The first one may be passed by a majority vote without a cloture vote because it is a financial act. The other two will take more work. The Republicans can always change the rules as the Democrats did.
1) Remove all federal funding from all federal and international programs that support either directly or indirectly any abortion providing or supporting organization such as Planned Parenthood. From Obamacare, to international parenting organizations, to the United Nations; no money to any group that is directly or indirectly involved in the murder of unborn children.
2) Pass the Unborn Baby-Pain Bill prohibiting abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy. This passed the House of Representatives in the 113th Congress so it should have no problems in the House.
3) Pass the Life at Conception Act. [Also know as a Personhood Act recognizing that once conception occurs the child is a person under the law] It is a biological and common sense fact that life begins at conception. If the Justices of the Supreme Court are not able to figure out this biological fact, Congress should pass this act establishing by law the obvious—life begins at conception.
Furthermore, the Constitution of the United States is on the side of each of these laws.
Article. I. Section. 1
“All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives.”
The President and the federal courts have no constitutional power to make law—only Congress does.
Article VI, Section I, ¶ 2
“This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding.”
The laws of the United States made pursuant to the Constitution are the supreme law of the land.
Please note: This section says nothing about federal court decisions being the supreme law of the land. Constitutionally, such decisions are not.
