There are a lot of myths about Obamacare, but there is also one rock-solid truth: having health insurance does not mean you will get health care. Part of the reason? America is running out of primary care physicians (link is external):
A survey this year by The Physicians Foundation found that 81 percent of doctors describe themselves as either over-extended or at full capacity, and 44 percent said they planned to cut back on the number of patients they see, retire, work part-time or close their practice to new patients (After Obamacare passed, my doctor, who was semi-retired and only saw patients he already had, retired. He said he did not want to deal with the bureaucratic paperwork that would result. I imagine he was not alone. I imagine more are retiring earlier than they had originally planned. Obamacare is not only unconstitutional. It is a bureaucratic, economic, medical nightmare! Overall, it has made things much worse! Not better! It was all built on LIES and wishful thinking! OK. Not so much thinking! More fantasy!—my addition).
At the same time, insurance companies have routinely limited the number of doctors and providers on their plans as a way to cut costs. The result has further restricted some patients’ ability to get appointments quickly (Sounding like VA hospitals! Another government run program!—my addition).
Some people can still get primary care ... if they are willing to make compromises:
For now, experts say most patients are receiving the care they need, even if they have to drive farther, wait longer or see a nurse practitioner or physician assistant rather than a doctor (Who needs doctors?—my addition).
Not exactly what the President, his legions of admirers and congressional Democrats promised when they were trying to get Obamacare passed (They made a lot of empty promises! Also known as lies!—my addition).
