February 28 –
10th primary: Arizona
Arizona was won by Mitt Romney with Rick Santorum coming in second. It was a winner take all primary with Mitt Romney receiving 29 delegates. All candidates including Rick Santorum stopped major campaigning in Arizona early or didn’t campaign much at all. Early voting was on its way before Rick came to the forefront, Arizona has a large Mormon population which according to exit polls voted 90% for Romney, John McCain the RINO Arizona Senator endorsed Romney early, and Governor Jan Brewer, late in the campaign, endorsed Romney. Do you think she’s seeking a Cabinet position should Romney win the Presidency?
11th primary: Michigan
Romney = 41%
Santorum = 38%
Paul = 12%
Gingrich = 7%
Even though Mitt Romney won the popular vote by 3%, the delegates are being split 50-50 between the two—15 for Rick Santorum and 15 for Mitt Romney. Winning in the Congressional Districts determined the delegate vote. Last I heard, one District was too close to call but the New York Times website has given that district to Romney. Regardless, this IS NOT a Romney win!!! Michigan is his home State, his father was a three time governor, he spent 6 times more than Rick spent, he won in 2008 by 9%, and the important delegate count is split even!!! And again, Mitt Romney did not receive a majority of the total vote.
This race is FAR, FAR, FAR from over. March is an important primary month with the first caucus being held in Washington on March 3rd.
