The process for people attempting to enter the country illegally through the Mexican border has often been characterized as grueling, dangerous and even potentially deadly; a trek across smoldering hot deserts led by ruthless ‘coyotes’ who profit from human suffering.

Meet the new coyotes: immigration attorneys and government rule-writers (Traitors!—my addition).

According to the clear guidelines published on the Internet and updated by the Obama administration in mid-June, there’s an easier way to cross to gain entrance to the United States: simply step right up to a border crossing and tell the officials that you have a ‘credible fear’ of persecution or torture. Use that exact phrasing and you may be able to enter the USA while you await a hearing before an immigration judge … a process that could take years (Seriously! What scum from this Administration! Our own government is helping people game the system!—my addition).

As Breitbart News reported yesterday in a story that swept through the Internet, that’s exactly what’s been happening recently with a flood of new asylum requests that seem designed to overwhelm the system.

The Obama Department of Homeland Security led by Janet Napolitano updated the information on their article Questions & Answers: Credible Fear Screening on June 18th, 2013 (Her parting “gift” to the American people!—my addition). The article explains that if you claim ‘credible fear of persecution or torture’ that you can seek asylum, and that the process is subject to review.

‘Individuals Seeking Asylum

If you are in expedited removal proceedings and found to have a credible fear of persecution or torture, you may seek asylum before an Immigration Judge (IJ). (See definition for Credible Fear in the ‘Glossary’ link to the right)

If the asylum officer does not find that you have a credible fear of persecution or torture, you may request that an IJ review that determination. If you do not request review by the IJ or the IJ agrees with the determination, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) may remove you from the United States.’

It defines with a ‘credible fear’ is:

‘Q. What Is a Credible Fear of Torture?

A. A ‘significant possibility’ that you can establish in a hearing before an Immigration Judge that you would be subject to torture if returned to your country (see definition of Torture in the ‘Glossary’ link to the right) [How likely would they be able to prove it. However, if in the U.S. waiting for a decision and amnesty is passed will they get amnesty? You know they will!—my addition].’

Elsewhere on the DHS site, the government draws a distinction between a ‘credible’ fear and a ‘reasonable’ fear. The credible fear standard appears to be a lower bar, which is likely why it became the key word used by about 200 people a week ago at the Otay crossing near San Diego.

‘Q. What is a reasonable fear of persecution?

A. You credibly establish that there is a ‘reasonable possibility’ you would be persecuted in the future on account of your race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion. The legal standard is the same standard used to establish a well-founded fear of persecution in an asylum case.

You cannot establish a reasonable fear of persecution based only on past persecution without establishing a ‘reasonable possibility’ of future persecution. After a reasonable fear of persecution or torture is found, the Immigration Judge will decide if you are eligible for withholding of removal or deferral of removal. Withholding of removal only provides protection against future persecution and may not be granted without a likelihood of future persecution. However, if you establish past persecution, there is a presumption that your fear of future persecution is reasonable.’

The webpage spells out the Catch-22 of the asylum claim: if the asylum officer finds you have a ‘credible fear,’ the next step is a hearing by an immigration judge. However, if the asylum officer does not find you have a ‘credible fear,’ you can then request a appeal hearing by an immigration judge. Either way, you will have a hearing in front of a judge (Which gives them a tremendous amount of power! Was this all set up by Congress or is this Obama rewriting laws?—my addition).

This is where the fun begins, because you will wait for your hearing in the United States under some sort of bond. Effectively, you are free to roam about the country for years. This ‘credible fear’ tactic was used by Lizbeth Mateo, Lulu Martinez and the others in the Dream 9 group of illegal alien activists to gain reentry into the Unites States last week.

As the Los Angeles Times reported:

‘The protest took root in July when Marco Saavedra of New York, Lizbeth Mateo of Los Angeles and Lulu Martinez of Chicago—all young adults brought into the U.S. illegally as children—voluntarily crossed the border into Mexico as a protest of the administration’s deportation policies. They tried to reenter the U.S. on July 22 with six other dreamers who also had been brought to this country illegally as children but had returned to Mexico more than a year ago for various reasons.’

The Times points out the claim that the Dream 9 are making that pushes the legal envelope:

‘A person seeking asylum must establish a well-founded fear of persecution based on ‘that he or she belongs to a race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion,’ according to Citizenship and Immigration Services guidelines.

Some of the Dream 9 are petitioning for asylum, saying that they have family members who have been killed and face death threats themselves (Why? Supposedly they have lived in the U.S. since coming here as children! Gaming the system and the Obama Administration wants them to!—my addition).

However, many in the Dream 9 claim they should be granted asylum because they belong to a particular group of people—that they are singled out and persecuted in Mexico because they have lived most of their lives in the U.S. They could become targets for criminal organizations that see them as easy prey for extortion and violence, they claim.’

It bears repeating: some in the Dream 9 are claiming that they fear persecution in Mexico because they spent time in the United States as illegal aliens. They are prepared to argue that illegal aliens are a particular social group that is due asylum consideration for having been illegal aliens (Which is ridiculous! I am going to be persecuted in Mexico because I did not live in Mexico!—my addition).

It’s such an outlandish argument that it’s one only a lawyer could love, but it will be years until an immigration judge hears it. In the meantime, Dream 9 activist Lizbeth Matter remains in the United States and begins her first day of law school at Santa Clara University today (We MUST be the laughing stock of the world!—my addition).”

EXCLUSIVE: A sudden influx of illegal immigrants from Mexico requesting asylum is overwhelming immigration agents in San Diego, forcing agencies to rent hotel rooms for some undocumented families and release others to cities around the U.S.

Documents obtained exclusively by Fox News show Immigration and Customs Enforcement has been paying for hotel rooms for dozens of recently arrived families to relieve overcrowding inside the San Ysidro and Otay Mesa, Calif., processing centers. Some ICE employees are working overtime and others have been asked to volunteer to work weekend shifts (This instead of catching bad guys crossing the border to do harm to the United States! It certainly makes Obama sense! It does not make common sense! If the Republicans vote for any type of amnesty, the Party is finished!—my addition). ‘Duties include intake, placements, transports and release of family groups and unaccompanied minors,’ according to a memo obtained by Fox News.

The surge has raised suspicions about what is driving the influx, amid claims that illegal immigrants have learned they can attempt to get asylum by using a few key words—namely, by claiming they have a ‘credible fear’ of drug cartels (See above post!—my addition).

‘This clearly has to have been orchestrated by somebody,’ said former U.S. Attorney for Southern California Peter Nunez. ‘It’s beyond belief that dozens or hundreds or thousands of people would simultaneously decide that they should go to the U.S. and make this claim (Posted on the internet!—my addition).’

Sources say one day last week, 200 border-crossers came through the Otay Mesa Port of Entry claiming asylum while as many as 550 overflowed inside the processing center there and in nearby San Ysidro.

‘People were sleeping on floors—they had nowhere to put them,’ said one source, a long-time border agent and supervisor. ‘This shouldn’t be happening. Unless there is an immediate and well-publicized policy change, this situation will become another debacle (Do not count on the Obama Administration to change it and the leadership in the Republican Party has NO backbone! Mitch McConnell GONE!—my addition).’

At a hotel near San Diego—which Fox News agreed not to identify for security reasons—ICE vans arrived several times over the weekend with immigrant families. They were escorted to the second floor by two armed, uniformed agents. Two border agents secured the entrance and side door (What a ridiculous waste of resources!—my addition).

Documents obtained by Fox News show that recently on a single day, dozens of illegal immigrants were being transferred to an area hotel where rooms cost $99 a night (Ridiculous!—my addition). Others were released to addresses in Texas, Florida and even Brooklyn, N.Y.

ICE sources say the addresses are almost always bogus. When they don’t show up for court, they are removed by an immigration judge in absentia.

Most of the immigrants came from Mexico, but others listed their native country as Haiti, Romania, Guatemala and Iraq. Some were over age 50, others were under a year old. Thirty were transported to a hotel. Seventy were released around the country.

Fox News spoke to four agencies responsible for the San Diego situation last week. All deferred to the Department of Homeland Security press office in Washington, D.C., which issued this statement:

‘Credible fear determinations are dictated by long standing statute, not an issuance of discretion. The USCIS officer must find that a ‘significant possibility’ exists that the individual may be found eligible for asylum or withholding or removal (And how long does it take and why is it being broadcast on the internet?—my addition).

‘If the credible fear threshold is met, the individual is placed into removal proceedings in Immigration Court. The final decision on asylum eligibility rests with an immigration judge.’

It is during this time—during removal proceedings—when illegal immigrants are released. Many don’t show up, as 91 percent of asylum claims from Mexico are denied (And where do they go or rather do they stay in the U.S. illegally?—my addition).

Asylum claims from Mexico are highly unusual and critics say this is an orchestrated sham—it’s not about getting asylum, they say, but about overwhelming the system and getting a free pass into the U.S. and a court date for which no one will show up.

‘Hundreds of thousands of people have never returned and the list of people for whom warrants are outstanding is phenomenal,’ said Nunez. ‘We have a long history of people absconding from immigration hearings of one sort of another, they just blend back into the community (Stay HERE ILLEGALLY!—my addition).’

ICE sources say an estimated 600,000 to 800,000 illegal immigrants a year do not show up for their court date and disappear into the U.S.

The number of asylum claims is on the rise, almost tripling the last four years. Most come from Chinese, Egyptian and Ethiopian immigrants. Fewer than 200 a year come from Mexico, let alone 200 in a day. However, by claiming they have a ‘credible fear of persecution’ if returned to Mexico, the immigrant is entitled to a series of interviews, hearings, proceedings and appeals that can drag on for years.

The initial evaluation usually is done in the border processing center by an asylum officer employed by USCIS.

Officials stress that meeting the ‘credible fear’ standard is not a tentative asylum approval. It’s simply a step in the process.

An immigration spokesman said last week: ‘The legal threshold for ‘credible fear’ is broad and low to ensure individuals who may face a ‘significant possibility’ of persecution ... have the opportunity to have their case heard before an immigration judge.’

Last week, an asylum officer heard the claims of the ‘Dream 9,’ nine Mexican nationals brought to the U.S. as children. Even though seven of the nine lived, worked and went to school in Mexico without incident, they were granted asylum. Most thought they would be deported (The power of the judge! Way too much power!—my addition).

‘The orders from Washington are to simply turn these people loose,’ said Ira Mehlman, a spokesman for the Federation for American Immigration Reform. ‘All you have to say is you qualify for the Dream Act and/or you intend to apply, and they’re instructed by their higher-ups to simply turn these people loose, to set them free and let them pursue any path they want (The Obama Administration is a criminal enterprise!—my addition).’

There are 57 immigration courts and 231 immigration judges. Immigration courts handle 280,000 proceedings each year—an average of 1,243 per year per judge, or four decisions per day.

Asylum can be granted if the applicant has suffered past persecution or has a ‘well-founded fear of persecution’ on account of race, religion, nationality, membership in a social group, or political opinion in their native country.”

The battle over whether the Republican-controlled House will grant amnesty to illegal aliens or push back the Democrat-controlled Senate’s drive to create millions of new Democrat voters has heated up.(My use of bold. So, why would any Republican—gang of four within the gang of eight—deliberately increase the number of Democratic voters?—my addition). Because the House is in recess and its members are back in their home districts, the psychological warfare operations phase of this battle has been ratcheted up by the Democrats.

A new report from the leftist blog ‘The Hill’ tells us that Democrat Representative Luis Gutierrez (Chicago—Mexico, Puerto Rico, and South America) is crowing about personally knowing of between 40 and 50 House Republicans who are ready to be ‘supportive of immigration reform.’

Although he would not name these four dozen or so Republicans, when asked to expand on his claim, Gutierrez said ‘If they ask me today, go find those 40 to 50 Republicans, I’ll tell them I found them. I know where they’re at …. I’m not going to tell you the names of some of them because some of them I’ve spoken to, and they’ve said I’d love to do the activity with you. I want to be able to vote for it. I really don’t need to draw attention to myself (Why is that unless they know that their vote for amnesty is NOT what the voters in their district want!—my addition).”

Nevertheless, in a little-heard comment made this morning on WFTW’s (Fort Walton Beach, Florida) Ken Walsh show, local Republican Congressman Jeff Miller said in an unequivocal manner that the House would not vote for amnesty for illegal aliens. In his answer to a constituent’s question on the immigration reform issue, Miller continued by saying ‘Speaker Boehner told us directly that amnesty will not pass the House.’

Okay that’s both sides. They couldn’t be more opposed to one another. Both Gutierrez and Miller were firm and unambiguous in their statements on the same issue. The question for us becomes, ‘Whom do we trust?’

There was a time not long ago when there would be no question but to accept the Republican’s word. Sadly, those days are over. It could be Gutierrez who is lying; but these days, we just don’t know.

I know of Luis Gutiérrez! He is a typical Chicago Democrat machine politician which means he has NO integrity! He is a liar! Is he lying in this case? That I do not know!

I am an American living in Australia and when I first moved here, I was appalled by what I experienced. I’ve always had a fascination with the country. It is beautiful and filled with many wonders, but the government here is socialistic and oppressive. There is a veneer of freedom over a massive, onerous regulatory mindset.

Socialism takes on many forms. In my research, I’ve found everything from communistic socialism to libertarian socialism. In the U.S., the Dear Leader is striving for a USSA by pursuing democratic socialism under the guise of ‘social justice.’ From Wikipedia:

‘Social democracy is a political ideology that officially has as its goal the establishment of democratic socialism through reformist and gradualist methods. Alternatively, Social democracy is defined as a policy regime involving a welfare state, collective bargaining schemes, and support for publicly financed public services.’

There are a number of different themes surrounding different styles of socialism, but one theme permeates all socialism: governmental control. In a socialist country, you’re too stupid to know what’s best for you (Or what’s good for you or what is fair for you or anything else!—my addition). A socialist country treats you as if you were a slightly slow child that simply doesn’t know any better. You must be told what to do in almost all situations. This is where the veneer of freedom comes in.

Individualism is not encouraged, but is tolerated within a careful framework if you are a ‘productive’ citizen. Socialism is all about forcing you to do things in the name of ‘fairness and social-personal responsibility’ whether or not is truly moral. In pursuit of this, socialism brings in massive government regulation, which strangles initiative. I once commented to an Aussie about the oppressive regulations and he said, ‘Don’t worry, you’ll get used to it (Right!—my addition).’ The vast majority of citizens of a socialist country are sheeple.

Too Stupid to Know Better
In order to insure the smooth functioning of society, and in keeping with the idea that you’re too stupid to know what’s good for you, a socialist government has massive bureaucracies that do nothing but promulgate regulations; lots and lots and LOTS of regulations. Because, in the minds of the ruling elite, without them, you don’t know how to get out of bed in the morning and know whether or not to (Remaining sentence deleted as inappropriate. I can do that. It is my blog—my addition)”

“‘My first month Down Under was quite an adjustment, one which is an ongoing process. I began to get my first inkling what to expect from this socialist utopia when I saw my first traffic sign. My first thought was, ‘DUH! Of course you turn with care.’ I thought this was common sense, but hey, when in Rome …. Then I saw other signs that began to really make me wonder. If a road is freshly paved, obviously there won’t be any broken lines to mark lanes, but they usually put down small reflective markers. About ten yards before the fresh pavement there is always a sign that again, made me scratch my head.

Again, my first thought was, ‘DUH! Of course.’ Again, you’re too stupid to know better unless the government tells you (You mean like when you take food out of an oven at 400 degrees and you are warned that the food is hot?—my addition).

When I got my Class B truck license I was dumbfounded to see a law that told you exactly how you must get into your truck. Yes, no joke. There is a law Down Under, punishable by a fine, which tells you exactly how to get into your truck. Again, I was too stupid to know this, so there had to be a law enacted.

Want to hear about some more asinine regulations? To become a babysitter, you must obtain a government approved certificate (license) in child care. To get it, you must take a six month course costing thousands of dollars just to babysit (They do not want minors to babysit!—my addition). Want to be a janitor? You must take a course in cleaning toilets and get a government license that costs nearly $800. You want to use a chain saw on the job? You guessed it! Another license. Wanna use a riding lawnmower on the job? Yup, another license.

These courses aren’t about how to clean, babysit or use a chain saw, they are all about control. The government wants to makes sure you’re under strict control … for your own good, of course, since you’re too stupid to know any better. The problem is that this attitude permeates the ordinary person’s thinking.

I’ve driven a forklift for several years and during my first day on one job, one of the other good little socialists asked me if I knew how to drive a fork. In spite of telling him yes and that I had years of experience, he proceeded to show me in detail how to raise the forks, tilt and side shift. I thought that maybe this was just this particular person, until I had another job and the same thing happened. I have found that this attitude is the societal norm.

Wealth Redistribution
The socialist government of Australia is money hungry. Of course, this is to promote fairness as defined by the elite. I’ve heard the rumor that Australia has some of the lowest taxes in any first world country. True enough, until you start counting the fees charged for almost every single government service. Then there is their Goods and Services Tax (GST) of 10%. The GST is a sales tax (Also known as a values added tax!—my addition) and is charged on everything. Any transaction conduced in this country from a single piece of bubble gum to the four quarters you put in a video game to college tuition are taxed, including every single exorbitant fee charged by the government.

My driver’s license included the usual government fee … plus GST. I had to have a heavy vehicle driver’s log that I could only buy from the government … plus GST. Vehicle registration is about $250, plus GST. All hospitals are run and owned by the government. Get sick and have to pay if you don’t have social health benefits: cost plus GST. Court fees, plus GST. Parking or speeding fine, plus GST.

Income taxes start at 18% and skyrockets from there. If you get any government benefit such as the equivalent of Social Security, housing assistance, etc., and get well or return to work, when it’s tax file time, guess what? Yup, you pay taxes of at least 18% on your benefits. If you work all your life in another country, then make the mistake of moving to the Land Down Under to retire, guess what? They tax your foreign pension.

Here are a couple of definitions that I think are applicable:

Theft: In common usage, theft is the taking of another person’s property without that person’s permission or consent with the intent to deprive the rightful owner of it.

Extortion: 1. The crime of obtaining money or some other thing of value by abuse of one’s office or authority.

2. Oppressive or illegal exaction of money or some other thing of value.

Tax: The involuntary or compulsory payment of money demanded by a government.

What’s the difference between a tax, theft or extortion?

A socialist government wants you to succeed, but not too much. Just like the Dear Leader once said, he believes a person can make too much money. Of course, the more you make, the more you can ‘contribute’ to the running of the government, so just go on succeeding and contributing like a happy little socialist.

Surveillance
Video cameras are everywhere, and I mean EVERYWHERE. About 75% of intersections have cameras as does about 90% of all businesses. Traffic cameras on the roads record license plates on all vehicles, their location along with the date and time. Certain types of vehicles are actively tracked from point to point. If you drive a truck with three or more axles, your movements are tracked around the country. GPS is mandatory in newer trucks with your exact speed and route recorded in a unit that can only be opened by the government.

Crime and Punishment
Crimes against persons and property are on the rise. In 1996, most firearms were outlawed and a massive government buy back was initiated. The only people who turned in their weapons were … drum roll please … yup, the honest citizen. Did this stop crime? It rose dramatically for several years, then slowly lowered … until 2010. Gun crime in the state of New South Wales from 2010-2012 has risen 90%.

Unofficially, but still a written rule, there are two types of criminals in a socialist country: your ordinary decent criminal who commits violent crimes and then the horrifying, despicable person who commits a crime against the government. Commit welfare fraud or defy a court order and you can count on going to jail. Commit murder, as in the aboriginal man who stabbed another aboriginal resulting in his death and you get 18 months’ probation. Or, the serial pedophile who was given two years. Or the serial rapist who was given 15 years, got out in five and murdered a woman two weeks later. Commit fraud against the government and you’ll get at least five years.

This is just a few of the things we can look forward to if the Dear Leader gets his way.”

Only we the people can stop this from happening in the United States!

Good afternoon. It is good to be a Texan.

Actually, being a Texan is a recent phenomenon for me. I just moved to Texas. I think I have been a Texan in spirit for a long time. I was born and raised in Illinois when it was still a politically competitive State. Spent much of my adult live in Arizona and then moved back to Illinois because of family. I could have moved anywhere in the country and selected Texas for many reasons including my belief that Texas may be one of the few States willing to stand up for State sovereignty and have the resources, people, and will to be successful. Politically, we, as a country, need that to happen.

I am a social and economic conservative. I grew up a Democrat and ran for office in Arizona as a Democrat. As Ronald Reagan said, I didn’t leave the Democratic Party, the Democratic Party left me. I believe the current Democrat Party leadership wants to fundamentally destroy the United States and I will do what I can to prevent that from happening.

Given the federal government’s attack on Texas, the Attorney General race is the most important one in the 2014 election cycle. I want to do my small part to select the candidate that will best serve Texas and its people in that fight. I was an early member of the Tea Party in Illinois and currently write 5 blogs, 6 days a week.

I have also written a Constitution workbook and a Constitution answerbook that covers the U.S. Constitution and its Amendments sentence by sentence and paragraph by paragraph.

I have checked out each candidates’ political profile and website and have found each to claim to be conservative and be willing to fight the federal government’s incursion against Texas sovereignty. I am an issues voter and supporter. I supported Marco Rubio and Jeff Flake and am disgusted by their support for amnesty for illegal immigrants. I don’t want to make the same mistake in who I support for Attorney General.

Therefore, I have a few questions to ask each to help me to decide who to support and for whom to work. I believe, given the candidates, that this may require a runoff election.

The questions:

1) When a State is a party in a federal court case, where does the case begin according to the Constitution of the United States?

2) If you are elected Attorney General, will you insist in the name of the State of Texas that the case begins in the proper court as required by the Constitution and not participate if the Constitution is not obeyed?

3) Please explain why or why not.

4) Will you make this position a major part of your campaign from the beginning of the campaign emphasizing the importance of obeying the Constitution as written?

5) Please explain why or why not.

Confession: You’re paying my phone bill (Confession. I do not want to pay for your phone bill!—my addition).

In the past month, I have received three shiny new cell phones, courtesy of American taxpayers, that should never have fallen into my hands.

The Federal Communications Commission oversees the so-called Lifeline program, created in 1984 to make sure impoverished Americans had telephone service available to call their moms, bosses (If they have bosses, why are they impoverished?—my addition), and 911. In 2008, the FCC expanded the program to offer subsidized cell-phone service, and since then, the expenses of running the program have soared. In 2012, the program’s costs had risen to $2.189 billion (For phones for the poor? Seriously!—my addition), up from $822 million before wireless carriers were included. As of June, there were 13.8 million active Lifeline subscriptions.

To be eligible for Lifeline, the applicant is supposed to be receiving some significant government benefit—food stamps, Medicaid, Supplemental Security Income, public housing assistance, etc. But because welfare eligibility has expanded under the Obama administration, more people than ever before are qualified to receive ‘free’ cell-phone service—part of the reason why Lifeline mobiles have become commonly known as Obamaphones. Alternatively, applicants can qualify if their household income is less than 136 percent of the federal poverty line (No wonder we have a smaller middle class. The government is paying them to stay below certain criterion!—my addition).

But as with any federal program with too much funding, too little oversight, and perverse financial incentives, Lifeline has become infamous for rampant fraud and abuse (What a surprise!—my addition). There have been news reports about recipients flaunting dozens of subsidized phones. And in February, the Wall Street Journal reported on an FCC audit of the top five Lifeline providers, which found that ‘41% (My use of bold.—my addition) of their more than six million subscribers either couldn’t demonstrate their eligibility or didn’t respond to requests for certification.’

The FCC supposedly buckled down on eligibility standards last year and established other safeguards aimed at reducing fraud (Sure they did?—my addition). I was curious about how tough it was to get one of these phones, so last month, I hit the streets of New York. And out of respect for the law and my journalistic integrity, I did not lie to obtain a phone.

Now is the point, I suppose, where I should explain that I really, really shouldn’t have received a single phone. Despite what you hear, not all 20-something writers in the Big City are starving. Given my earnings, even if I were supporting a family of eight, my income would still rule me out. Nor do I receive any type of government benefit. By the Lifeline program’s standards, I am unambiguously ineligible.

My first task was figuring out where to register. The rule of thumb is that wherever you can sign up for food stamps, you can apply for an Obamaphone.

Representatives from SafeLink and Assurance, two of the leading New York Lifeline vendors, stand outside the food-stamp offices, paired like Mormon missionaries, young and polite and earnest. They carry electronic tablets and ask all passersby whether they’ve received their free phone ‘yet’—as if it were an inevitability.

They approached me for the first time outside the food-stamp office at Tenth Avenue and 216th Street, on the northern tip of Manhattan. The SafeLink vendor, a man probably in his mid 20s, asked me whether I was enrolled in any benefit programs.

‘No,’ I said, ‘but I’d certainly like to be. I’m hoping to be.’ And indeed, while doing research for another story, I had gone through the motions of applying for New York City welfare, which I also don’t qualify for. I showed him my Human Resources Administration paperwork packet and the case number assigned to me. I reiterated that though I had once applied, I had never been approved for any sort of benefit.

He brought out his electronic tablet immediately to sign me up for phone service. He asked if I had an insurance card, so I pulled out my trusty Blue Cross Blue Shield. He looked at it for a second, puzzled, then asked if I had Medicaid. No, I told him, just private insurance through my work plan.

‘Private insurance? What’s that (Really!—my addition)?’ he asked, maybe not facetiously. My BCBS card was nevertheless photographed, as well as the first page of my Human Resources Administration paperwork. He asked for my name and my home address, and that was about it. The whole process took less than five minutes, and I had to provide no documentation verifying my income level or (nonexistent) welfare status (And he earned a commission! Now, I do not know if he works on commission but it seems very likely! The more he enrolls, the more he makes! The more the company makes and the more the federal government pays [We pay!]! And the government does not care!—my addition).

The SafeLink vendor then referred me to his opposite number, a rep from Assurance. She too took down my information, registering me for another Obamaphone (Why? It was two for one Sunday?—my addition).

Traveling to several of the welfare offices in the city, I learned this was common practice. Obamaphone reps come in twos, and both will sign you up if they can.

That’s a very questionable practice, given the Lifeline program’s rules: Each eligible household may receive only one Lifeline subsidy, and obtaining multiple subsidized phones from multiple Lifeline carriers is ‘a flat-out violation of our rules (It is called fraud!—my addition),’ says Michelle Schaefer, an attorney-adviser from the FCC’s Telecommunications Access Policy Division, Wireline Competition Bureau.”

He has an opportunity to lead the Republican Party. Will he? “I’m Wayne Allyn Root for Personal Liberty. A couple of weeks ago, Barack Obama held a press conference to discuss a local court case. Highly unusual. Actually, unheard of. Why on Earth would the President get involved in a local court case? Obama just can’t let the George Zimmerman/Trayvon Martin case go because he is obsessed by race (They use it as a club! Everything they do not like or agree with is racist! Someone ought to tell them about the boy calling wolf when no wolf was there until ….— my addition).

Obama asked the key question, ‘What if Trayvon was white?’ So I’ve set out here to examine that very question. What if Trayvon were white and George Zimmerman were black? Obama is right: Everything would have been different about the case (Absolutely!—my addition).

If Trayvon were white, there would have been no national headlines. No one outside Sanford, Florida, would have even heard about the case. A black Zimmerman would never have been charged with a crime. And if there had been a trial and a black Zimmerman had been found not guilty, you can bet your last dollar that Obama’s Justice Department would not be considering civil rights charges (True!— my addition). If they did, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton would call it double jeopardy and a modern-day lynching of an innocent black man. That’s right; they’d be marching in the streets to defend the black Zimmerman (Of course they would! Skin color is their defining criterion!—my addition).

The reality is that white Americans are killed by black Americans every day, but the national media never report it because they are afraid of being called racist (True! Or they are Black racists! Yes, there are Blacks who are racist just as there are whites who are racists! Most whites are not racist and most Blacks are not racist regardless of the race baiters. If most whites were racist, we would still have slavery and segregation! Such poor reasoning power!—my addition). I can’t remember ever seeing or hearing race mentioned on the national news unless it is a white-on-black crime. And then, of course, it is the centerpiece of the story and always blamed on racism.

By the way, Zimmerman isn’t white. He is Hispanic. But liberals never let facts get in the way of a good story. That’s why the media and the race-baiters have coined a new phrase: ‘white Hispanic.’ Sounds like a new race was invented just to justify liberals’ use of the word ‘racism’ to discuss this case.

The same fear of being called racist is exactly the reason the national media never reports black-on-black crime, which has become a national tragedy. Cities like Detroit, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Obama’s Chicago (True for Chicago!—my addition) are young black male killing fields. They are more dangerous for black Americans than serving in Afghanistan or Iraq. Why don’t the national media report on this tragedy? Why hasn’t Obama ever held a press conference to discuss that crisis? It is certainly much more devastating to the black community (But, it does not fit their criterion to make all Blacks victims! Barack Hussein Obama who was raised by a white mother and then a white grandmother and grandfather! Who attended a private high school in Hawaii and Harvard Law School! Such a special ghetto experience!—my addition).

Could Obama name any of the black murder victims in Chicago that were shot by other blacks during the Zimmerman trial? I’ll bet not (Of course NOT! It is not part of his agenda!—my addition). Why are all those young dead black men that also look like Obama’s son any less important? Is it because their deaths don’t stir up racial anger or resentment? Is it because none of their deaths move his agenda forward?

Here’s another difference: If the victim, Martin, were white, there’d be no involvement by Sharpton, Jackson or the Congressional Black Caucus, nor tweets by liberal Hollywood celebrities, nor protests across America. When was the last time any of the race-baiters weighed in on a murder involving a white American? When was the last time a white person being murdered resulted in protests or rioting? Can you name one?

Have white people ever protested en masse about a black accused criminal getting found not guilty? Did the O.J. Simpson verdict cause rioting by white Americans?

Here is something else we know: If Martin had been white, the President of the United States would never have gotten involved in a local court case. Never. So why did he get involved here? The primary reason is to create a distraction from the tragedy of his failed policies and never-ending scandals. He is doing all he can to keep Americans from focusing on the sinking U.S. economy; the unthinkable national debt; the record number of Americans on welfare and food stamps; the millions of people left jobless by his anti-business policies; the bankruptcy of Detroit (which was ruled 100 percent by Democrats for more than 50 years); the murder, mayhem and out-of-control gun violence of his hometown Chicago (with the strictest gun laws in the Nation); the unraveling of Obamacare; the Internal Revenue Service scandal; the Benghazi, Libya, scandal; the Associate Press spying scandal; the James Rosen spying scandal; the Kathleen Sebilius extortion scandal; the Operation Fast and Furious scandal; and wars and unrest all over the Mideast.

The reality is Obama is using Martin to change the subject. He’s hiding behind Martin’s ‘murder’ to get the media (The mass media does not want to talk about Obama’s many scandals either!—my addition) and voters’ minds off his own scandals and failures. Just as he has done repeatedly, Obama is changing the conversation to save his own skin. Martin is Obama’s W.M.D. (weapon of mass distraction). He’ll exploit Martin as long as he possibly can, so he doesn’t have to explain his own failures and scandals. As Saul Alinsky taught Obama, ‘The ends justify the means.’

Don’t forget the IRS scandal just happened to deepen on the very day Obama chose to bring up Martin at an impromptu press conference. We found out that Obama’s political appointee was at the very center of the IRS scandal and that he met with Obama only two days before the IRS harassment against conservatives started.

Another obvious difference is if the victim were white, Obama would never have weighed in about ‘white angst’ or ‘white pain (Or whites being attacked by Blacks!—my addition).’ Should our President be feeling the pain of only one race of Americans? What about the rest of us? Don’t our anger or feelings count (Of course NOT! Whites are the privileged class according to Obama! I guess since he is half white and lived in a white world, he should know! He knows everything else!—my addition)? Isn’t Obama the President of all Americans, of all races? Is this President trying to bring us together or purposely tear us apart?

In the end though, Obama is right. If Martin were white, this would all be different—100 percent different. And if Obama were a white President and he weighed in on a local black-on-white murder, he’d be called racist, ignorant and insensitive, and he would be drummed out of office by the liberal media, race-baiters and the NAACP.
