Washington, D.C.—House Bill 2 (HB2), the bill that would protect the unborn after 20 weeks and protect women who choose abortion by placing reasonable regulations on clinics in Texas, advanced to the full House after the House State Affairs committee heard testimony from some of the nearly 2,000 witnesses who signed in to testify. The committee approved the bill on an 8-3 party-line vote, the first action on the bill since the legislature started a second special session called by Governor Rick Perry (R) last week.

The House is expected to take up the bill next week. In light of that, pro-life leaders are gathering on the south steps of the Texas State Capitol on Monday evening for a pro-life rally and encouraging participants to wear blue. Penny Nance, CEO and President of Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee, said in the brief statement below that this is history in the making:

‘A baby at 20 weeks gestation has all her organs; she has a detectable heartbeat and the beginnings of fingernails, eyelashes, and eyebrows. She can respond to her mother’s voice, and, most tragically, she can feel pain. Medical science has proven that he or she is a human life deserving of human rights (He or she is a human life from conception!—my addition). In fact, late-term abortion is an inhumane practice that was recently unmasked by the horrors of Kermit Gosnell and his ilk. Now is your chance to stand for life and to speak for those with no voice. Please join us on Monday, July 8, at 7:00 p.m. on the south steps of the Texas Capitol. This is the human rights issue of our time, and our young people get that, with individuals under 30 supporting the ban by a 52-39 margin (Not surprising! I said in a previous post that Arizona has the power to recall Senators. It has already started. They need your support—financial, on the ground gathering signatures, getting acceptable conservative candidates, and voting BOTH of them out of office and replacing them with true social and fiscal conservatives! It’s ultimately up to the voters of Arizona.

A recall can happen. I know because I was involved in the recall of an Arizona governor who was impeached and convicted after the petitions were validated but before the election was held.

In response to their efforts on the so-called ‘Gang of Eight’ immigration bill, Senators Jeff Flake and John McCain—both Republicans from Arizona—are the subject of a recall effort recently launched by a website called senatorflake.com, Jim Hoft reported at the Gateway Pundit late Sunday.

The site says Flake is ‘not representing Arizona voters, conservatives, or American citizens’ and accuses him of ‘voting as if he were employed by foreign nationals’ who have invaded the country.

‘Mr. Flake voted to reward criminal foreign national illegal aliens with legal status before even attempting to secure our sovereign borders,’ the petition reads. ‘In the Judiciary Committee, Jeff voted against meaningful E-verify enforcement, and he even voted against a measure introduced by Senator Cruz that would block instant access to state and federal welfare benefits for illegal aliens. Jeff Flake is proposing an immigration reform bill S.744 that abdicates Congressional authority to the Secretary of DHS, delays enforcement measures for years, and calls for plans rather than actual security on our sovereign borders and ports of entry. His votes display an utter disdain for the rule of law, national security, and the welfare of taxpaying citizens. We demand he be immediately recalled from office.’

The site also says McCain ‘voted to reward criminal foreign national illegal aliens with legal status before even attempting to secure our sovereign borders with the 700 double-layer fence, as was already required by law in 2006.’

‘John McCain voted against national security, opposing an amendment requiring biometric visa tracking at all land/sea/air ports of entry prior to rewarding illegal aliens with green cards,’ the petition against McCain adds.

The site encourages visitors to download PDF copies of the petitions and says it will collect petitions after July 4.

The website does not say who started the petitions nor does it provide any contact information, but a post at Joe My God claims it was started by the Tea Party. The blog does not provide any evidence to back the claim up, however.

The website for the Arizona Secretary of State lists two recall petitions for McCain, but neither one is connected to the immigration bill. No official recall petition for Flake is mentioned.

The Senate is expected to vote Monday on a 1,000 page amendment to the controversial bill. According to a tweet by Senator Ted Cruz, the amendment was filed on Friday.

‘Did you know Leahy/Schumer/Hoeven/Corker amendment to #Go8 is over 1,000 pages & was just filed TODAY w/vote already on Monday?’ he tweeted.”

And as you should know, it passed with the support of 15 RINO Republican Senators!

The above video is from C-Span 2 which means the statements occurred on the floor of the Senate. The year is either 2005 or 2006 when the Republicans controlled the Senate. The debate is about a Constitutional Amendment to define marriage as being between one man and one woman. The Amendment would have passed in the Senate if some RINO Republicans like John McCain had not voted against it. As a result, we now have the Supreme Court considering if homosexuals somehow have the “right” to have faux “marriage!”
